So here we are, stuck in the middle…
Waiting for positive statistics, wearing a mask, and avoiding physical contact as much as possible.

If you feel like you are living in the twilight zone, you are not alone. Staying connected through tech is a huge bonus but waking up every day wondering what I can listen to, watch, clean, create, or eat has to be getting old.

One possible idea is to go for a walk and check out the parks near you.  All sorts of things are happening in our local parks that do not involve any touching, talking or distancing.  Nature is putting on a show for us all on its own.   All you need to do is show up to get a front row seat to a blooming organic ballet of flowering trees and winding paths. Even a short stroll is enough to sooth the weariest housebound skeptic. No credit card necessary.

Doorman Versus
Amazon

Help! Help!
Mountains of Boxes are everywhere!
Do we really need ALL of this STUFF?

Mounting piles of grinning packages are overwhelming building lobbies all over the city. Doormen everywhere are on the frontlines of a Package Pandemic of their own.  A 21 year veteran Doorman on the westside of Manhattan. His job requires a well pressed jacket, and endless courtesy.  Once a proud greeter of guests, summoner of taxis, watcher of small children, and keen Vetter of visitors, he now spends his day sorting mountains of smiling beige boxes.  On a typical day in his 215-unit building he receives 160 packages!  His new title is package manager.

Overwhelmed as he is, he does admit that sometimes the mountains of boxes are not so bad. Seems there are a few residents who are connoisseurs and enjoy ordering wine by the case and show their appreciation with a rare vintage every now and then.  It makes the mountain of beige boxes less ominous!

A colleague living in a D.C. apartment with no doorman says “some days, the height and scale of package buildup outside his door prevents him from leaving the building.” He uses a side door to get out.

In case you are getting restless staying, home we have an answer that could also help recycle some of your pesky refuse. More to the point, all the pesky tubes inside paper towels and toilet rolls. The project is REDUCE, REUSE, & REBUILD. Originally a Children’s Architecture Workshop, this concept recycles toilet paper & towel rolls and tissue boxes.  Depending on the mass quantity you have, this architecture workshop helps you reduce, reuse, and build your own Cathedral using the same principals that built our great structures. The scale of your structure will of course depend on the amount of material you have amassed.
